In Sonora's coastal agricultural region, just a stone's throw from the Sea of Cortez, lies the Yaqui Valley. This unique area is home to some the finest mixed-bag wingshooting in all of North America. Both white-winged and mourning dove are resident birds in Sonora, living here in abundance year-round. Gambel’s and Elegant Quail thrive in endless fields of sorghum, sesame, corn, and other grains. The duck habitat is just as extensive, with miles of shallow-water estuaries, mangrove swamps, and freshwater ponds positioned next to to grain and vegetable farms.
DUCK - We offer traditional decoy duck hunting rivaled only by old “glory-days” duck hunting in the United States. The Obregon area offers the ideal staging and feeding ground for wintering Pacific Flyway duck species, and from early November through early March, it serves as the home to an estimated population of two million pintail, gadwall, green, blue and cinnamon teal, black duck, canvasback, Pacific black brant, widgeon, redhead and many others—16 species in all. Hunt an extensive network of comfortable man-made and natural blinds to which pairs of hunters are chauffeured to by custom-made airboats every morning. The combination of liberal limits and the great diversity of species make for the duck hunt of a lifetime!
DOVE - As the leading outfitter in Sonora, our hunters have exclusive access to hundreds of thousands of acres of pristine hunting habitat. Every one of our hunters is provided with a personal bird boy, a comfortable swivel seat with back rest, plenty of 28, 20 or 12 gauge shells, and a cooler stocked with a selection of soft drinks, water and beer.
QUAIL - Custom Sporting offers thrilling walk-up quail hunting for two unique species - Gambel’s and Elegant quail. Found prominately in the high deserts of Sonora, these birds are both thrilling and challenging.
Just after sunset of each day, you'll enjoy relazing at our one-of-a-kind hunting lodge - a throwback and ode to "Old Mexico" hunting lodges, but with every moden comfort imaginable. In the evenings, guests enjoy ice-cold drinks and wonderful home cooked interior Mexican meals. Our lodge has nine bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate 18-22 hunters and features private baths, a 10-person Jacuzzi, a bar and lounge, satellite TV, telephone service, fax service and Internet service.
